Script scramble ch. 3

I've got slow figured out, working on steady.

More good news than bad

When I set my goal of finishing a comic script in five weeks, I knew full well that we were going to have a baby somewhere in the middle of that. So good news number one is that, baruch Hashem, we had a baby girl! The other side of that is that I did not finish my script after five weeks. But the other other side of that is that I did eventually finish writing the script, I just have to type it up! (It took about eight weeks if you were wondering. Not bad.)

Moving right along

The next steps are typing the script, and illustrating it, which are both underway, but desparately behind schedule. In order to find extra typing time I’ve created this zany contraption:

For lack of a suitable laptop.

As for illustrating, it’s super exciting to see some of the first pages actually done, but I think I’m falling prey to that old adage I mentioned in the first installment: “the enemy of the good is the perfect”. It is really hard to lower my standards as I draw my way through my precious little project! I’m spending upwards of four hours just penciling each page, which is about double what I was planning for. 😟

But if I’m throwing myself way off schedule anyway, you might as well get to enjoy some of the process!

Meet stickybones, my trusty model.

Bad guys bein’ bad

What’s he hiding under that mysterious cloth???

This angry dude is named “Digby”.

I hope you enjoyed the check-in. That might be it for this little script-writing adventure. Of couse I’ll let you know when the book is done, bli neder!
